FURIO MAESTRI. KOSMOS | |||||||||||
From 7 to 28 March 2015 Biasutti & Biasutti Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition dedicated to Furio Maestri and to its sculture-volume titled Kosmos, realized in 2014, a sort of shaped canvas. Eleven white works constitue the exhibition, which aims to highlight the three-dimensional aspect. Maestri is seeking for a sophisticated play of shadows, through the use of materials which emphasize the light. Kosmos is the the summary of the aesthetic representation and the moral significance of the Beauty. Furio Maestri succeeds in Kosmos’ works “after many years of searching light, intended as to get the three-dimensional effect of a work of art”. His artistic way began with oil painting on nylon material, which covers canvas. The surface of nylon produces folds, creating a sort of obstacle between the colour and the light. Going through different density of material on canvas, he reduced at white colour his usual ones as red, black and blue, previously found in its works called “Schede”. Today, these densities in Maestri’s works, have become even larger, red, black and blue colours have disappeared, letting the white colour only with “light and shadow”.
