OPENING: 9 November 2000 6 p.m. From 9 November to 16 December 2000 Biasutti & Biasutti Gallery opens a monographic exhibition curated by Luigi Cavallo, dedicated to Ottone Rosai (Florence 1895-Ivrea 1957). Thirty oil painting works and a dozen drawings have been brought together summarizing the fundamental stages of the painter's work from the 1920s to the 1950s. All of Rosai's work was a long formal exercise. Papers and sketches to get to the composition on canvas. A careful study of the drafting of color, an essential balance between shapes and lines , landscapes and faces strongly related with the entire history of painting. Each work is accompanied by unpublished letters highlighting Rosai's close correspondence with the critic Luigi Carluccio, who was the protagonist of important artistic initiatives in Turin. | |||||||||||
