GABRIELE TUROLA. FILASTROCCHE, STORIE E STORIELLE
OPENING: 12 March 2009 From 12 March to 9 May 2009 Biasutti & Biasutti Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Gabriele Turola (Ferrara 1945), entitled Filastrocche, storie e storielle, the second one, after the one in October 2006, at this venue. Everything is inspired by one of his rhyming lines: “… I see the countryside wearing a green skirt and a poppy chewing American gum”, from which he elaborates a series of works that echo the popular and fantastic tradition of fairy tales. Some of his works clearly represent this aspect: The tailor of the rainbow, The cellar of the moon, King Kong in Turin, A butterfly in his hair, Magritte's cartoon. About thirty works are exhibited that illustrate the latest production by the artist from Ferrara with particular reference to stories related both to nature and everything that revolves around it. Some of the paintings, some of them large, represent scenes set in the Turin capital.
