WIFREDO LAM. GIRO DEL MONDO IN 80 ANNI
OPENING: 29 October 2009 From 29 October 2009 to 16 January 2010 Biasutti & Biasutti Gallery opens a monographic exhibition dedicated to Wifredo Lam (Sagua la Grande, 1902 - Paris 1982), an important show dedicated to one of the most great exponents of surrealist painting. "His friendship with Max Ernst, Victor Brauner, André Masson and André Breton had produced in him a more sensitive tuning on the voices of the subconscious, on the adoption of images populated by fantastic creatures, masks with horns, Centaurs and Minotaurs". Twenty-two works by the artist born in Cuba of a Chinese father and Hispanic-Afro-Cuban mother make up the body of this review which covers a period of time between 1938 and 1975. Catalogue available. Open from Tuesday to Saturday: 10-12.30 / 15.30-19.30 closed on holidays.
