Biasutti & Biasutti Gallery is pleased to present a solo show by Piero Gilardi. His recent nature-carpets works made of polyurethane foam are in this exhibition characterized by stony landscapes set in different times of the four seasons. Birch trees, snow-covered shores of streams, Italian and red Caribbean beaches with logs carried by the flowing sea, beaches with cactus, semicassis, strombus, coconuts, capers, shorelines and rocky mountain landscapes. The voice of Nature talks truly and sincerely through the use of this synthetic material, chosen by Gilardi during the Sixties to point out the radical absence of nature. Gilardi saw nature as having become appearance, an appearance that did not correspond to substance. Until 17 November 2012. Catalogue available.
