ANNI ’70 Arte e Fotografia in Italia | |||||||||||
Until the 25th of July 2020 Biasutti & Biasutti offers a look at the fascinating panorama of Italian artists who used photography in the cultural season of the 70s. The search for identity starting from the subject is the question that the artists raise. What is expressed is a need for social, political, ideological and existential renewal. And so their reflection is projected in the commitment to reconfigure the work itself, increasingly far from being "manufactured" and closer to being "visual thinking". From the second half of the 1960s to the early 1980s, several artists therefore investigated the potential of the photographic medium, in the light of a movement of thought that in fact pervaded not only the field of art. The result of these experiences is the flourishing of totally new expressive researches, whose multiplicity and articulation have proved to be such as to create a broad and exciting scenario in all its reflections. Crossing the Conceptual Art and then going through the Body Art, the Behavior, the Performance, but also the Mec Art, the Different Repetition or the Narrative Art, to arrive at expressions that deepen the aesthetic and emotional value of the image while not being placeable within a specific current, artistic experimentation with photography spread in this period almost everywhere but Italy represents an extremely prolific area. An area composed of a multitude of individuals who, by expressing their "vision" through the use of photography, came to produce a real "world view". In the desire to travel this extraordinary territory, Biasutti & Biasutti presents works by Giuseppe Chiari, Giorgio Ciam, Mario Cresci, Giuseppe Desiato, Luigi Ghirri, Marcello Jori, Plinio Martelli, Aldo Tagliaferro and Michele Zaza.
