JORGE EIELSON. The poetry of knots
OPENING: 5 October 2000 6 p.m. From 5 to 28 October 2000 The Biasutti & Biasutti Gallery presents an exhibition dedicated to the Peruvian artist Jorge Eielson. A series of works, from the 70s to the 90s, highlight the great energy and beauty contained in the knot - a real language of his pre-Columbian ancestors - using brightly colored fabrics, knotted and stretched on the frame. The quipus is for him a graphic sign, an aesthetic foundation, a core of color. The point of connection between the pre-Columbian past of his country and its historical and artistic present.
